Norway is really beautiful. After a few wet days the sun was up when we awoke. It's still light till quite late and then the sun is up early the next day. We drove to the town of Kristiansund which is on an island along the coast, admiring the scenery and the views all the way. Stunning mountains and waterfalls along the road. One of the roads even ...

When we awoke the ship was headed through the picturesque fjord to the industrial city of Kristiansand. The weather was perfect. We were in port all day but we had a short excursion of the area with a focus on history of Norway and the local area called "Scenic Drive to Hollen and Open Air Museum". We woke up this morning to find ourselves docked in Kristiansund, our last port of call before returning to Liverpool. At some point during the night we’d crossed south of the Arctic Circle once again, so we would gain back even more daylight and our chance of seeing the Northern Lights one more time had diminished a lot. Nevertheless this was a new port for us, so we were looking forward to the excursion we’d ...

... center with an amazing view of the 222 mountain peaks that are surrounding the fjord and city. Although we arrived at 6 pm we still had some time to go to the beach and enjoy the evening sun. Many people were even swimming in the water, which is extremely mild here and combined with the hottest day of the year so far, was an excellent opportunity for the locals to swim. Who would have thought we would go to the ...
