We spent one week in this cosy and special hotel. We planned every evening with the owner of the hotel where to hike the day after. And every time it was a special experience. We saw a lot of mountain lakes, deers, flowers and the owner one time came with us explaining all about the area: history, geography and bothanic. ... exhausted Sue heard more swear words come out of his mouth than he usually says in a month! The only trouble came when we drove to the bottom to pick them up. Bryan's plans, I have discovered, are a moveable target and while I heard the same as Annabelle, he decided to ride further than the agreed pick up point at the bottom and didn't stop at the agreed coat swap spot which left the girls wondering after about an hour whether to go back up the mountain ...

I think the original goals of the frescos was to help the rather lowly Vintler brothers gain status in the Tyrolean aristocracy, but if you look closely you can learn a lot about about the culture and styles of the day. I snapped a few photos of the frescos.

... a couple light pasta entrees and we did not disagree. Chris had a ricotta and spinach tortellati ragout and mine was tagliatelle fatte (kind of a wide, flat noodle) with radicchio and bresaola. They were quickly prepared by a jovial Italian cook, who, when he poked his head out, seemed relieved we ordered something requiring cooking. Such a lucky accident we wondered in there.
