Happy Birthday to me!
Today is my birthday and we started it off bright and early and drove to Glendale where my uncle lives. After picking up coffee at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, I dropped Jane off at the nearest gym in Glendale, and I went to pick up our rental car. The rental car clerk pointed out that my driver's license expires today …
... in the distance they're brown where it's so dry. The climb goes on and on, the cyclemeter data shows we were over 1000ft on two of three climbs, it was hard going but no cars at all - we see some 'nodding donkeys' but not for oil the plant said processing *****umen! Then we eventually come to the main route 101 and TomTom tells us to turn left onto it. At last we could really get up some speed, miles passed then suddenly a ...

Today was my hardest day on the bike all week. In my attempt to hang with the Alpha's and then outrun the Bravo's I overextended my heart rate multiple times. If you do that early in a ride its very difficult to recover later in the ride when you have to crank up a hill ...
... not MATCHING. I asked her why she would dress that way to walk Aragon. She screamed, yes screamed, that she had been wearing them ALL DAY THAT WAY. Now remember, we spent half an hour trying on yoga slippers which meant BOTH of us were looking in the direction of HER FEET the entire time. We DID see some people laughing at us various times in our million steps we used to walk the streets of Solvang; eating at ...

As we were walking through town, crossing a road Rob trod on something soft, looked down and it was wet cement, then did he notice the 3 massive cones around the small square to prevent you stepping on it - at least he can say he really left his footprint ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hadsten House Solvang
on 04/02/2006 me and my wife and another couple visited Solvang and stayed at the Vagabond inn. the hotel was clean and came with a microwave, tv, refrigerator, iron and iron board. continental breakfast was good. for you pool lovers there was a inside pool that was heated to 86. great place and great price. definitely will stay again.
Fun place to take kids
We stayed here with a girls soccer team and everyone had a great time. The kids love the pool and game room. The place it right downtown, so you can walk for dinner. It was fun.
Fantastic - look forward to our next visit!
We came across the Vagabond Inn and were taken with its great location and neat appearance. We were traveling with two other couples (our son and daughter and their spouses) and had no advance reservation. They gave us adjoining rooms and reduced the room rates without our even asking. The rooms were lovely, spacious and clean, and the indoor pool and game area is awesome! We had to leave after one night, but one of the couples loved it so much they stayed an extra week! It was so kid-friendly they couldn't resist.
We stayed here during last year's Solvang Prelude Fun Ride- and what a mistake THAT was.
Always love it!
my husband & I and our family have stayed at this motel on several occasions and my husband and I have also stayed in the jaccusi room, it has always been a great place to stay. The rooms are always clean, the service has always been good. we have stayed before when it was quality inn and since it has been inns of california, but we were always pleased.
We found this hotel in a AAA book, and after making our reservations found the terrible reviews from other users, so we were rather apprehensive but decided to give it a try. Our stay was over Labor Day weekend, and we were wary of the noise levels that had been mentioned, as we have a two year old that we try to get to bed early. However, we were greatly relieved when everything turned out great. Considering that AAA has it as a two star, we were pleased with the cleanliness, quietness, and spaciaousness of the room we were assigned, with two queen beds (my mother-in-law came with us). We have stayed at "three star" motels that weren't as nice. Another thing that we were very happy about was the breakfast - definitely an extended continental, and plenty to fill up on, even for our tot. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, and all in all, we have no complaints. Solvang is a great place to visit, and the Vagabond is within walking distance of everything.
The Jacuzzi rooms are great!
I'm surprised to see that others had a bad stay. My wife and I stayed in room 100 which has a full size whirlpool tub and it was great. A little too much bubble bath and we had an extreme foam party! This room was a total surprise for a typical motel.
We had the recent unfortunate opportunity to stay at this horrible place. While looking on line for a place to stay in Solvang I came across the Vagabond Inn and thought we would give it a go.....WHAT A BIG MISTAKE! After making a reservation I noted the reviews so I called the 800 line inquiring about the rooms and mentioned the reviews. I was told that the place had been recently renovated and updated with new furniture, which turned out to be not true at all. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everthing going on in the rooms on either side of us. We also had a bathroom with a no good faucet and had to take cold showers in the evening and in the morning because there is no one available in the office after 10:00 pm or before 7:00 am to fix it. I called customer service to file a complaint and was contacted three weeks later to be told that they would refund 10% of one night's stay which roughly came out to approximately $9.80. My suggestion is they keep the money and fix the faucet in room 402!! Who ever reads this review...BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID to stay at this horrible place. If I ever stay at this place again it would be as a last resort or out of desperation!
We found the listing for the Vagabond Inn / Solvang in a pamphlet about the area.
what happend to steve st. clair him and his wife where the best managers. My wife and I stayed about a 1 1/2 ago and was so pleased with the room and the service, the hotel was so clean and the managers went out of there way to make us happy. When we went back and to our surprise they where gone. TOO BAD for this hotel, the new managers where not nice at all, the room was VERY dirty along with the pool. This was a real clean and nice place to stay in solvang, and steve gave us a great deal on the room the new management tried to change the rate upon check in NOT GOOD! and the name now is Inns of California not Quality inn.
