... I started off earlier than normal, and hopped on the train up to Helsingor to pay a visit to Kronborg Castle, or Elsinore to those Shakespeare fans out there. It was around a 45 minute train ride, fairly non thrilling, and I arrived to somewhat cooler environment, and quite windy. The castle is located on the north-west coast, so the breeze coming off one sea/ocean or other was quite bracing. I took the fifteen minute or so walk from the train to the ...

I was and still am, ridiculously chuffed with it, quite why I’d delayed so many years prior to having one is beyond me. Actually it isn’t - it was the price – they wanted 750.00 for a table, that is the quoted price. ... was one of the more stupid ideas that I have had. The only reason I booked the train was the fact that it was the cheapest of the day, but at that time in the morning we would have paid double for just a few more hours sleep.

We dragged our bags to the station and waited with the other cheapskates to get on the train. Initially I was looking forward to the journey as the train would snake around from the ...

... different to what it was last time we were here. I look forward to exploring the castle grounds again while I'm here. Elke, as I expected her to, asked if I had any washing to do. I was able to catch up with some much needed practical household tasks like hanging out the washing, little things like this are much appreciated when you are travelling around from place to place. Who would have thought?? Sophie presented me with a lovely gift from them ...
