Today's hike was billed by Bill as an easy one and indeed it was a lovely easy walk over 11KM with delightful views and company.

Ours was a small but happy group, Bill, Roger, Claire, Lars and myself enjoyed a nice pace covering the distance in less than 2 hours and 45 minutes with stops for a "banana break" and lunch.

On Wednesday we rejoined our hiking group. We have missed the last few weeks because of travel, work at home and then the invasion of Nilbrinks! Finally we could go back to the mountains for a walk!

After months of recuperation today I was able to join the hiking group from the English Speaking Club. The group, lead by Bill walks twice a week, exploring hundreds of trails in the beautiful countryside near El Campello.

Today it was a small group. The weather looked threatening, but did nothing to deter us...we wanted to hit the trails!

Sunday 12th may we headed of on the train to Alicante, a five hour journey on the very comfortable Renfe train. We travelled along the coast past lot's of beaches and Valencia orange trees.

At Alicante we were met at the railway station by Melitta's cousin, Annette. Much to our surprise we realised that Annette was the same person as Nettie, whom we had previously met in Holland.
