... for the gold that was taken from it’s mines and the climb into the mountains I pass abandoned roads that led up to these excavations. As the air heats up I can sense that my engine is having a little trouble with these steep grades, sure enough the temperature gauge start to climb up to the high range. I pull over and pop the hood. A check shows the coolant level to be a little low but I’m ...
Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Arizona, United States mdrury... think Josh thought he was on a big hotdog. Our tour guide/raft operator, Brian, was very informative and a bit of a comedian and he made the trip very enjoyable. We were able to see Hoover Dam and the construction of the new bridge from the lower side of the dam before we headed 12 mile down stream. Saw a few caves, hot water springs (they say the water comes out some of them at 150 degrees fahrenheit), wild ...
Boulder City, Nevada, United States woolfiestrip... out to Joe and Justin for their hour drink run. The two of you are real sweeties! After Tao, Amy, Joel, Mike and Justin and I became hungry. Maybe it was all of that dancing. I was happy I rode with Justin to the late night restaurant. While driving Justin serenaded me! Justin, you have a great singing voice! My favorite song that Justin played was Journey's Don't Stop Believing. I even popped out of Justin's sunroof. Hey! At least I didn't climb any semi-trucks this time!

In my exploration, I found a little garden used for wedding ceremonies with statues of Venus. One note...with all the construction that has occurred I think the sun bathers would have a problem getting any sun since the pool area seems to get a shadow of one of the towers surrounding it at any time of the day except noon.

Another aspect of Vegas I had not fully considered is the fact that sex sells and Sarah is 12. This problem manifested itself in a couple of ways. On our last night of vacation, at Sarah's request, we went to Margaritaville, Las Vegas ...

I am usually a letter of the law kind of guy when it comes to highway speed limits, but I was able to overcome and adapt. Difficult though it was. That is the good, now for the "I don't get it." There is apparently some kind of state law that requires the closing of ...
Boulder City, Nevada, United States mbbergThursday 15th May We woke early due to the noise and heat and decided to get away from Las Vegas as fast as possible. Can you blame us?! As we were leaving we decided to fill up with fuel. We are pretty careful where we are buying it as the prices can vary up to 50c a gallon. After Steve had put about $100 worth in we saw an even cheaper place so stopped to top up. A man standing in front of our van said he could see water coming from under the engine..... it ...

Back on Route 66 we started seeing the Burma Shave signs (famous in the U.S.A for being along Route 66). These were a spaced 5 signs on the side of the road, with witty slogans like: If daisies are your favourite flower keep pushin' up those miles per hour. Cattle crossing means go slow that old bull is some cow's ...
Boulder City, Nevada, United States alvrez... Whilst there we did not really gamble much because I am not much of a gambler and Mark was only 20 at the time. We spent our time exploring all the hotels and eating a lot of food at the buffet dinners. It is no wonder that the Americans are some of the most obese people in the world food and large quantities of it are available everywhere. We typically would have a ...
