We decided to take today as a recovery day so we slept in a little and went for a leisurely breakfast before heading out from our hotel. We were able to walk to all of our destinations today. Our first stop was the Hakata Machiya Folk Museum. This museum introduces the daily life and culture of Fukuoka City during the Meiji and Taisho periods. Craft products and souvenirs such as Hakata Ori (folk woven textile) and Hakata dolls were on sale. Our next stop ...

It's unbelievable that such good quality beef is so ...

It was another massive load of food, all little plates. The only thing I refuse to eat at all here is natto. It is fermented soy beans. They look foul, all stringy and glutinous so I can't imagine how it smells. Then it was time to leave this paradise and we got a lift to the bus stop to go to our next fleeting visit to Mt ...

... thing going on which made for some free entertainment in the afternoon, wandering over the bridges and looking in rivers it appears that they are all teeming with carp of all types including the obvious Koi variety, so after finding out I couldn't go to Mount Aso as I'd planned due to an exclusion zone i had a rethink and on recommendations from other travellers decided on a trip south to Kagoshima instead to see the infamous ...
