      ... there in Maribor, doesn't help we forgot our guide book either. The most entertaining bit was arriving in Ljubljana Airport and picking up the hire car for my first driving on the right hand side of the road experience (have previously driven in NZ but they are the same as side as the UK).

      ... of them all. They were very nice I think, but I'm not sure, so I'll have to sample them again later. As I booked this tour not long ago, all the rooms in the farmhouse are taken, so I have been accommodated in a lovely house, all to myself, 50 metres up the lane.       ... His parents greeted us outside with heartfelt hugs and warm exchanges, this being the first time we'd ever met after years of hearing about one another. His mother spoke very little english, but I'm constantly amazed at how much warmth and feeling can be shared without a word spoken.       ... pretty darn cute. I could NOT get to sleep that night and was tossing and turning all night long. In all I got about 25 minutes of sleep, which meant I was pretty much a zombie the whole next day.

      The breakfast buffet at our hotel was interesting to say the least. There was a plate of uncooked bacon that people were helping themselves to. Safe or not, it didn't exactly appeal! There were also random bowls of green peppers ...
