We began the day with an early morning bike ride through villages lining the rice fields and were amazed at the simple life so many people lead. Their housing is quite basic compared with ours, but everyone had a cheery smile and said "Hello" to us. ... returned to our locked guesthouse, woke our host, and put off checking in properly until the morning. Friday's Complimentary breakfast was a big bowl of beef curry. No licence, no ID required and we were given helmets that resembled baseball caps and in all likelihood offered little protection. We could have given any name and any hotel name and one would never know. The scooter lady also does washing and it is charged at $1 per kilogram, washed, folded and returned the same day.
