... immaculate beaches with only a small scattering of people on them here and there. We never expected this.

The city was beautiful - fascinating bridges in different shapes and architectural forms over the river, all lit up in bright colors at night, as well as so many new and beautiful buildings downtown, with new resorts, condominiums and villa communities being built along the beaches and yet just a little ways out of town are the little old ...

... to a riverside cafe so I went with them. It was half way across the market with a view and a smell of the foetid stinking river. I had Pho Bo and it was as you would expect here, very good. Nephew and wife turned up and we ate lunch together and I headed home.

... in the An Hoi district where my hotel was located. It couldn't have been positioned in a better spot, on the waterfront not too far away from the old town either. It even had access to a swimming pool which even though, (as has been well documented in my blog so far) I am a lousy swimmer, it was nice to relax beside (which was the plan for my stay here). ... I was happy to be back down on sea level afterwards was an understatement! All I kept thinking was "my Dad would LOVE this!!" reminiscing of all the holidays he would take us on with Top Gear inspired driving around many European mountain passes! When we arrive in Hue we are free this evening to grab some dinner, and I think I may have a glass of wine if we survive this.... Oh dear lord we are on are way back up into the clouds again!
