... wanted a picture with Susie, then with me. Darren wasn't wanted. We made their day, and they gave us a bunch of sweets which was nice of them. That evening the hostel organised a pub quiz. Us three were joined by Natalie, and 2 Austrian girls called Anna and Eva. We had already chosen a team name earlier that day, after a nice and democratic vote. Winning 2 votes to 1, our team name was 'Quizzing in Susie's face is so SAPAsfying.' Needless to say, we won the quiz. On Sunday we ...

This area is magnificent and is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. It's easy to see why. At the barge where we got our kayaks was a live fish pen with several large fish inside. One was easily identified as a jack, but the others we don't have back home. Our guide said he had tried fishing but was not ...

Today we set off to Halong bay and boarded a cruise ship for a two day mini-vacation within our vacation. Halong bay is 3.5 hours (by bus) northeast of Hanoi and our cruise company picked us up by bus to get there. Halong bay actually stretches to China! We made a rest stop at a very very overpriced souvenir stop. The Vietnamese currency is the Dong or VND for short. The exchange rate is roughly 21,000 Dong to one dollar, so that's lots of Dong for everyone ...
