As part of our amazing luxury exploration of the 'rocks in the sea' (Halong Bay), we chose to select a home stay at a small village called Yen Duc. The great thing from the moment we set foot in this quaint little village was the fact we didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival we were greeted by our village host, Na, a charmingly smiley young woman. There are now only 65 left and much of their demise is down to the fact that it was believed in these parts to be very beneficial to consume their brains. We arrive in the village where ...

We woke up to an incredible sunrise in the bay. I managed to have the whole of the sun deck to myself just taking in the breathtaking scenery. I have lost count of the number of times I've proclaimed the beauty of this place. It is definitely another one of my top visits and was rightly named as one of the top seven natural wonders in the world in 2012. I'm also pleased to learn Iguazu Falls made it into the list as I voted for the falls on returning from Brazil in ...

... was to catch squid which apparently they have caught before but at this time of year it was rare but I wanted to give it a go. After a while of bobbing the line up and down the rain and the cold became too much to bear so I went back inside for another drink. Soon afterwards me and Tammy decided to call it a night and left the boys to the karaoke machine to head downstairs to our movie and bed. After my shower I asked Tammy what movie she wanted to see, after ...
