I decide to walk off for a bit and just stop and take it all in, right now, right here as i look out across the ocean i'm thinking 'this is what it's all about, this moment, this night. The menu on the boat is a big affair and dinner was probably the most extravagant yet: pumpkin soup, cucumber and tomato salad, steamed prawns, stir fried beef and veg, pork with green bananas, rice and fruit for pudding. The dishes were brought out with the most creative and elaborate fruit carvings of doves, a sea eagle, and a junk. 11 August (Halong Bay to Hanoi) The day started with an early ...

... than the insides. The sheer rocks jutting out of the sea was such an dramatic sight and sailing through the fields of them was an absolute delight. Later, farther out to sea, we docked at a 'floating village' (a group of houseboats floating together, some complete with dogs - poor things) and went kayaking. We paddled into some narrow passes and enclosed sections the Aloha was too big to get into and found ourselves surrounded by sheer cliff going up ...
