... jellyfish, about the size of a steering wheel, they were cool! Then we went to another place and went kayaking. Tessa and I were slow to start, but got there in the end - thank goodness! ... but for North Face jackets, bags etc. North Face have a factory in Hanoi so the shops are flooded with "surplus stock" and seconds at a fraction of the price we would pay at home. I've loved my big duffel bag for the last few trips, but could do with a smaller version as carry-on luggage - so I picked up a little brother for my bag at a stupidly reduced price. Halong bay was a different experience altogether compared to Sapa. Much more relaxing!!! We had a bit of a rocky start when around half way on the bus from Hanoi we were told there was a possible cyclone on the way and we may not be able to stay overnight on the boat. The tour guide Dem, who was okay but nowhere near as good as Tu, didn't handle the situation very well, and some of the others in the group (especially those only on the one night tour) got pretty annoyed.
