Happy Australia Day! We said 'goodbye' to Colmar and headed for Eguisheim, a wonderful medieval town. We first visited Wolfberger winery, see photo, known for its fabulous Crement. Brought a butter/pate knife at the outdoor market by the church, 10€. Had a fantastic lunch at Restaurant Bartholdi, he was the sculpture who designed the Statue of Liberty, ate duck with a beetroot and small red berries sauce, delicious, vegies were roasted fennel carrots turnip ...

After all twelve had finished the figure of Christ made a sign of the cross - blessing all those present. Our necks got saw looking up, and also trying to record the action with our cameras. 10 minutes later and it was the scramble to get out of the cathedral and back to the hotel for our afternoon tour. The rain started just before our pickup which was disappointing. ...

... those in Riquewihr, but it was very enjoyable. We had lunch in a cafe, where Tom and Steven had deer steak with gravy and dumplings, and I had choucroute (sauerkraut) with 5 different meats (G and M had sausages and chips!). Very good! We had hoped to catch a little tourist train, but it wasn't running after lunch, so we headed to the Children's Market (quite frankly, not that different to the other stalls, though it had a mechanical nativity and we did see ...
