There is a fantastic and huge market place with fresh meats, fish, cheeses, sweets, and other "produits de Alsace". We enjoyed it. Then we decided to take the car to a couple more nearby villages, Eguisheim and Turckheim. Eguisheim was recently voted one of "the most beautiful villages in France". It was certainly charming! Rebecca and I got up at around 9 a.m., got dressed, and went down for breakfast, letting Ben sleep until he woke up, as we have been careful to do every morning since his Aunt Elena reminded us that at his critical stage of development depriving him of any sleep at all could cost cause him to lose cognitive function. It seems to be working—he's been at the top of his cognitive form ever since then.

Eventually we were all up and ready to start our ...

... the finesse of its art as our hunger instincts were already calling in for lunch. Although we tried to find out an authentic Alsatian cuisine, most of the restaurants were shut down as it was the Easter holidays. Nonetheless, I did manage to munch on the regional delicacies, Tarte Flambée (the alsatian version of pizza or some say it’s the origin of today’s urban pizza) and Quiche Lorraine. After munching on sumptuously, ...
