      On this trip, maintenance was a non-event (not a single problem throughout all that time), but this contrasts with the storms, rain, low visibility and lower ceilings that we encountered on the trip. I was very glad that the plane is IFR-equipped and that I have maintained IFR currency.       ... to raise money for a local flying scholarship. Interestingly, it was the best burger of the trip, of which I ate far too many (I would conservatively estimate I consumed more than 20 in the last two weeks).

      Eventually, it came time for Alex and I to bring the Flyabout to a close - we got into the Long-EZ for our trip home.

      ... t seen in person in over 25 years, but that I hope to be able to at least see for a few hours. I’d love to have more time to try and relax a little bit, but life just doesn’t permit that right now. Maybe when I retire…

      I’ll not write again until the trip gets underway. I want a relaxing evening with the whole family Friday night before getting an early start on Saturday.

      ... Maya spent five years at the University of Washington which for me was on the bucket list. University of Washington, commonly referred to us locals as UDub, the home of the Hukies is a public research university in Seattle. Founded in 1861. UDub is one of the oldest universities on the West Coast and has one of the best medical schools in the world. We walked the grounds in the rain (rains a lot here) for some hours travelling through old buildings that smelt of history and nostalgia. ...
