... keep track of where you are in the choreography. I love the way he teaches the class because he gets mad when we try to memorize the steps with words. For example, we are not supposed to think "planta tacón tacón golpe" (toe heel heel stomp). He instead wants us to memorize according to sound. It makes more sense to me this way and it's helping me pick up in the rhythms much faster.
