... streets - serving great fresh orange (for Kevin) and Prosecco for me!!! Bliss. Booked out on the next available flight - which was to Madrid and booked a cheap aparthotel for the night before flying on somewhere warm.
It just coincidentally took us to Lanzarote, which we know and love and we thought, what the heck, let's just go and chill out there till the dollars run out!
... rethink our return strategy and decide to take the mountain road through the centre and loop back round – it’s a long drive – but one we thought would be rewarding and well worth it – we were right.
We while away hours which seem like minutes and stop regularly for periods of time to drink in the wonderful views. When we finally decide it’s time to loop back it was early evening, with a long way to get back to ...
... The coastline here was just spectacular. This was the most beautiful place we had seen yet on our trip. Cala Gonone is a nice town built above the sea and this completely isolated area of the coast stretches 15 miles in either direction without another coastal town. The only way to go up and down the coast here is by boat or by hiking trail. There's no coastal road here because it is too rugged for building one. We stayed in a great, chic, little ...
Cala Gonone, Sardinia, Italy johnandrichArbatax is a small coastal town on the mid Eastern coast of Sardinia. We dropped anchor outside the marina right next to another catamaran flying an Aussie flag. Just as Shaz was looking through the binoculars at the cat a man stood up on the back deck in a G String. She dropped the binoculars in horror and refused to look again. (That's because he wasn't a young Italian I'm sure) But really...it's not a good ...
... museum because Filippo and I both love mummies. We saw several ancient Egyptian mummies and sarcophagi, in addition to relics from Etruscan and Egyptian society. Another afternoon Filippo and I went for an afternoon to Cascine park (which is gigantic). One night Ruth Anne and Lelo had a couple of families over for dinner and it was a wonderful night. There was tons of food and after everyone ...

Tertenia, Italy danielvalente... the overnight ferry to Sardinia, which only leaves once a week on Saturday night at 9:00. Palermo is just a dirty, bustling city, so there wasn't much to see or do there...it was pretty boring just waiting all day for the ferry. Then the ferry from Sicily to Cagliari, Sardinia is a 13 hour trip, but it went by pretty quickly as I slept most of the way. When I arrived in Cagliari the next morning, I was hoping to catch a bus up to Cala Gonone on ...
