... button on the chart and trying to figure this out. But just as quickly as the depth sank, it started to rise again until we were in deep water. We thought it curious until Dana looked to port and RIGHT NEXT to the boat was a gray whale. Hang on - there were 2 whales. What a feeling! Of course, Dana wanted to go hard to starboard, away from these masses, and Adrian wanted to get closer. We fumbled for the camera but it was hard to get a shot as they were mostly just above ...
Saint Martin, Antigua and Barbuda on-oncruising... so I was pleased when we managed to arrange to hook up down at a bar along side the ship. We drove across the island taking in Devils bridge, a narrow arch carved out by the sea leaving a natural bridge spanning the sea, if your carefully and the sea's not to rough you can walk along the bridge, although you need to be careful as the sea punches the water under the arch and shots it upward with some force alongside the bridge ...
Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda easygeeze... was absolutely breathtaking. Here I was, high above the cliff, overlooking below the blue crystal sea, the sun's rays illuminating the water, the deep blue sky with its candy ball clouds, it was unbelievable. It was another moment in time to be cherished forever. I kept running here and there with excitement in order to capture and memorize everything at once. Again, picture perfect.
Finally, we made our way to Nelson's Dockyard. The ...
Today we arrived in St. John's, Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda. We debarked the ship and walked a bit until we reached what seemed to be some sort of plaza, where a local was balancing a pineapple on her head while grooving to ...
St. John's, Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda ashleylutt... As soon as I started digging the umbrella into the sand, the downpour began. Everybody ran for shelter under their umbrellas, under cabanas, or at the bar. We tried to stay dry under our umbrella but it was a losing battle but I didn't let this dampen my mood. It was quite a funny scene and the only thing I can think of was Rihanna's song "You can stand under my umbrella...ella...ella.", which I kept singing to myself for most of the downpour. Eventually, we and a ...
St. John's, Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda royv1... before) to get to Dominica. The airport was more or less closed, and there certainly wasn't anyone from our airline there. In fact, we saw the pilots and check in girl arrive. The pilot was dropped off by his mum. Maybe he can't drive. Check in Girl looks at us a few times, then asks where we are going to. She is suprised when we say Dominica, as that is her checking in flight. Instead of checking on the computer she doesn't have, our lady steals ...
St John's, Antigua and Barbuda chrisandtess... and ran out on deck to see our anchor chain running freely out of the chain locker. After 110 feet of chain, came the lighter weight rope which didn't pass out as fast, allowing us to grab and tie it to a cleat. We gulped and went back inside to check out the anchor locker to see what had happened. Yikes! The anchor windlass motor (which pulls up the 110 feet of heavy chain as well as the 75 pound anchor) had come off ...
Jolly Harbor, Antigua and Barbuda questmiller... The snorkeling here was far better. The next morning we took what Doyle describes as "an adventurous half-hour walk over hills "(to Anse des Flamandes). Climb might be the better word and boat shoes are NOT the best footwear but the views were spectacular. In spots we were hand over hand on rock ledges high above the sea. Yes, I guess that qualifies as "adventurous"! Anse des Flamandes was a lovely wind crescent of the whitest sand with swimable surf crashing ashore. John ...
St. Martin and Saint Maarten, Saint Kitts and Nevis freespirit2006... br> Here we find local small colorful buses, waiting for us. We have a ride round this beautiful exotic island.....here looks like paradise!
We are supposed to have lunch here and then leave back for the ship, to be carried to the Island of Saint Tomas.
The food is ridiculous. We ...
