They have excavated the Jewish settlement a little more than on my last trip and plan to open an underground museum within 2 years. We visited 7 Christmas markets as the weather was nice. Bars were dark and played strange music but local beer was very nice. I had to try the typical german shnapps which was actually nice as well.

Next stop: Paris, France

... off to NZ in Noverber for a belated honeymoon and we were given the lowdown on Dusseldorf. They both spoke good English and we spent an enjoyable hour talking and drinking with our new found friends. We decided that it was time to head for home as the weather looked ominous and also they had told us that the drink drive alcohol rules apply to cyclist also in Germany. We bId them farewell and headed back. With the tail wind and a couple of wines on board we made it home in 30 minutes.
