Our last full day in Hong Kong today meant finishing off the few things we had left on our lists to see and explore. First up was Discovery Bay, a supposedly very nice looking and posh shopping place that we've heard a couple of people really love. However, whether due to the intense humidity making us really sweaty and affecting our opinion, neither of us were that impressed. It had a couple of nice beaches, and having walked from one side of the bay to the other (a bad idea once ...

... facilities and looks quite unreal sitting between all the large buildings. We soon discovered why they are not used a lot during the day, as was very hot so only lasted about 30 minutes before going back to the hotel for a swim - its hard life I tell you!

Later in the morning we headed to Stanley Markets on the south coast. We managed to get ...

In Defense of the U.S. Pt. 2

... same thing happened to me my 2nd year. I was able to get new passport pages and a one year tourist visa to China while in the U.S.--in 5 days. This includes the time it took to travel to Dalls from Pennsylvania and back. When I came to China, my company required me to switch to a work visa. This process took six months. Half a year to process a work visa. Between all of the absurd rules, briberies, and general incompetency, it took 180 freaking days to process a work ...
