    ... truly beautiful, but most of it was steep inclines, rocky stairs and the promise of not much farther. Trevor eventually turned back as we got to a point where it was just too steep for his back. I went on and was exhilarated to see wild monkeys coming out of the bush on sunset, a gorgeous shrine in the middle of the mountains and found a wonderful gift for my husband.     This morning we checked out of our hotel and were told we were heading for the mountains. So first stop was to visit the Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Water Sciences - this research centre had a 50:1 scale of the dam and river in this particular region of the Po Yang Lake Reserve. Quite interesting to see the 'Thunderbirds' looking research area - which had an inbuilt dam to show the ration of water flow etc, etc.

So, after looking at Chiang's old villa (yep, still there), we sat in a park for a while and then just continued down the mountain on an old path.
