Staying at Martin Lake Resort which is a definite stretch! It is mobile home park not an rv park, with old fifth wheels and campers that people call home. There is a nice lake and a pool. We drove down along the gulf and stopped to take pictures of the carved trees damaged during Katrina. Absolutely beautiful! Had dinner at BBQ joint that had wonderful reviews but we didn't like it as much. However the owner was so friendly it made up for it. Leave tomorrow for ...

We went to the Sharkhead Souvenir store as well and purchased some fresh shrimp and oysters right from the dock for a mere $20 for 3 pounds. Supper for tonight. Gail and I worked on getting our travel pads up to date uploading and syncing pics taking advantage of the fast wifi. Happy hour time rollered around ...

We learn all about shrimp fishing and even get to see how it's done! Wow, we had a great time learned a lot about shrimp and we ...

Apparently, discarded drug blades are discarded everywhere in New Orleans and we probably picked it up in the $5 parking lot we were in. Long story short, Durocher's had to buy a new tire. Went over to talk to Gail in her Coach and low and behold what should I see a ...

... stop. The water was 72 degrees but still a slight shock at first. A mama and baby manatee immediately came towards us.

The mama was big but not as big as some of the others we saw later, some swimming and some sleeping along the bottom. They are about 1500 lbs or so, so that can be a little intimidating. It turned out that it was a little too cold outside so although we saw about 20 or so manatees they were likely not as active as they ...
