Foreigners, after the Opium War, would settle here. Like everything in China, getting here was not easy. I ended up getting a taxi to the ferry port as it was only 10 minutes away from my hostel. After trying to buy a ticket at the port, I was told that because I was foreign I couldn't buy a ticket here and I had to ...

Had a lazy day today staying around the Hotel Indigo. We walked down Zhongshan Lu and had lunch at Aijsen Ramen, one of our favourite Japanese restaurant chains. We then wandered back to the hotel and had afternoon tea sitting up in the restaurant area overlooking the harbour and Gulangyu Island, unfortunately not warm or nice enough to sit outside.
