... am used to being looked at differently when I come to China. I rarely notice it any more. But at times on this trip, it became a bit overwhelming. One such place was Xilin Hot in Inner Mongolia! I could not go more than 5 feet without another group of giggling locals shyly coming up and wanting me in a photo with them! I have had parents push shy kids towards me to practice a ...

... with its tall modern buildings and busy traffic a very hazy kilometre away.

There is an art & design campus as well as a music campus located here - part of Xiamen University. I went in search of the art & design campus. Most impressive and welcoming.

The high school, university and beautiful grounds were given as a gift to China in this area in 1913 by ...

"We spent today with a Chinese student. I was paired with a boy called Turney but we went in a group with Kyle and Johnny, the boy he was paired with. We went for a bike ride near the beach and after Kyle had to buy a new tshirt because his was 'wringing with sweat'. After lunch at McDonalds we went shopping and the four of us bought vuvuzelas, much to the annoyance of the people in Xiamen! All in all, I really enjoyed the ...

... to Pizza Hut keeping the group waiting (AND they didnt even bring us any! Whats that about!) After some grovelling, all is again rosy in the camp! Last night we were treated to a very posh dinner by Madame Chen, Vice Principal at shaungshi Junior school and one time visitor to Bo'ness. She was a wonderful host and our kids ate well, one of the best meals so far! Lastly to sign off this update - I have now been mistaken for a pupil a grand total of 11 times. Cue the laughter...." - Mr McF
