Our free day in Antalya, yeah! We got up and had a relatively leisurely breakfast for us, 8am. After a bit of organising we headed off to explore the old city of Antalya which is about a 10 minute walk from our hotel. The weather is stunningly good - clear blue skies and sunshine - so everyone is in a good frame of mind and happy to be wandering around outside. The old town was established between 138-159 BC (just ...

... as there are no others around. Above the cliffs is the ancient city of Hieropolis (Holy City), a Graeco-Roman and later Byzantine city. Much of it is in pieces scattered over the land due to earthquake damage but there are a couple of jewels there. One is the beautifully formed and resorted amphitheatre. It is a real treasure and definitely worth the walk up the hill to see it. The Romans made full use ...

... or something!! I walked down the road away from the salon and tried to comb it straight. Then I put my sunnies on and was so glad I wouldn't be bumping into anyone I knew! Another good laugh and story! The guy was actually an ok cutter, it was just the mousse, trying to make it curly, cutting it too short and the lack of a common language. It cost me the grand sum of $15!!!!

I have finally decided travel around the Middle east from my hometown in Antalya. While I am walking I see these beautiful Mosques that I have never seen before. I see so many Turkish, Persian, Syrian, and Asian merchants trading and exchanging goods with each other. When i asked my fellow friend Guven, he said most of the imports come from Europe, India, Iran, and Asia. I also notice the townspeople seem very busy trading goods with ...

... here. Dinner at the Yoruk Cafe in Cirali was just as good as suggested by TripAdvisor! Les yet again came through with his research. The restaurant is staffed entirely with family and they were working hard to ensure that all of us were happy. We all ate for 98 TL which is about 50$ CDN. We had Meze of pizza bread, garlic yogurt dip, and cabbage rolls, followed by Pide - Turkish pizza and Calamari. So good. One of the meals for the top 10 list. Our servers ...
