Sad to leave beautiful Kas with it's lovely warm weather and the lovely staff at the hotel and the rooftop terrace overlooking the water. Most hotels in Turkey give you a wonderful buffet breakfast with cereals, cold meats, cheeses and salads and hot eggs and other foods too.

At this hotel we had a dinner of a vegetarian buffet with bbq chicken, fish or meat, and a soup and dessert for a really reasonable price of A$12.

    October 10, 2014 Friday

Today we left after a very poor breakfast – this hotel was the least impressive so far! Except for the great hot spa! We drove south to a town called Aphrodisia – what another great surprise this place was. It is the only site that has only been discovered by Turkish excavators. Once again it was amazing to wonder through many ruins mainly in honour of the god Aprodsia – Goddess of Love. ...

Our hotel in Fethiye (Marina Vista) is overlooking some spectacular yachts berthed in the marina, so dinner on Friday night under the moonlight and over the water lapping underneath us was wonderful. Saturday was a lazy start of 10.15am which saw 18 of the 24 of us spend the day on our own yacht. We had a choice between 50 Lira ($25AUD) to board a public boat with a capacity of 150 people, or 75 Lira ($37AUD) for our own private ...

    Day 13 - Finally a quiet day

A travel blog entry by denten on Oct 12, 2013

A deserved long lie and a quiet breakfast before hitting Dolphin beach. Very hot again so I decided to get a kayak and spent 40 mins paddling the bay. Before lunch we headed back to the hotel and sampled the offerings sitting outside overlooking the marina. Bliss!! In the afternoon we found as shaded spot on the grass next to ...

    The Caretta and Olympus Ruins

... of the ruins, we were amazed at the intricate detail in the churches, theatre and tombs. Most of the ruins are Roman and some Byzantine art work exists. It looks like much of the ruins have been untouched once they were discovered in the early 1990s. Much of this area is overgrown by vines, trees, flowering oleander and figs. We explored for a good couple hours and checked out the touristy town on Olympos- mostly pensions(little hotels) ...
