Decided to walk into the old town this morning and took Tess with us. It was a very nice tunnel, but for several Km's we were the only ones in it mmmmm had we blundered, no except we had to pay a modest toll (the French apparently are a bit tight) and the road was not so twisty, so all said a good decision. ... of earlier, more basic times on the land. The Cadi valley area seems to be a major butter producing area and there were also lots of productive apple and pear trees. The climate and vegetation of the Pyrenees are more like northern Europe than is the rest of Spain.
After our bucolic interlude, we found our way back to the highway through the narrow back lanes of Seu d'Argell and on towards Sort and the higher part of the Catalan Pyrenees.
