... true. we spent all of the time in Normandy at WWII sites, as well as seeing the tapestry of Bayeux. We saw the cathedral in Nantes, took the river tour in Bordeaux, etc....so just because i focus on food and wine, does not mean the sightseeing isn't happening as well...
so as for the sightseeing today in Sahorre, we had a very nice tour of the cave (aka local wine shop) where you can get a liter of wine ...
... of those places actually had what I want, but there’s a good chance. The only thing that can make me feel better now is logic, so I pour it on thick, mostly about how things average out. I just booked a room in LA for three days two weeks from now @$50/day, standard conveniences and all, something almost unheard of these days. And as if things couldn’t get any worse for this silly pathetic little hotel episode, then the ...
Andorra la Vella, Andorra hardiek... just peaked out! The sun was glittering on it, as well as all the white houses with red roofs (and one with eggs). We walked from Portlligat to Cadaques, another beautiful little coast village. (On the walk over I was talking to some girls who are also unbelievably excited for New Moon. Like I said, it's the small things that lead to happiness!)
In Cadaques I watched the big waves surge above the walkway and ate Crema Catalunya gelatto ...
... and serrano, I made a few sandwiches for the road, chatting with a Kiwi in town for a poker tournament. I think the buy-in was $10,000 euros or so, but he won a qualifying tournament late last night and won a spot in the tourney. You never know if people are ever telling the truth about themselves when they travel, as there is no incentive, since you'll probably never again see that person again. He mentioned that he doesn't work any more, because he ...

I'm not sure which language they speak here, but they say Merci for Thanks (at the beginning I though it was just for fun:)
Els Caçadors: a very good, family-run hotel in Ribes with both 1-star and 3-star accomodation. Very good food and reasonable prices. There are also other possibilities for accomodation in Ribes, which as far as service is concerned has all you need. I recommend this as a base for your excursions to the peaks around Núria. Much cheaper than living in the hotel at Núria.
Ribes de Freser, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands slunThe monastery-turned-hotel Núria, north of the town of Ribes de Freser in Catalunya, Spain is an excellent destination for walking. There are several peaks around the hotel, enabling you to do comfortable and rewarding day-treks. Some peaks: Noufonts, Noucreus, Eyne, Puigmal... (can't remember all names right now). Altitude from 2000 to 3000 meters.
Núria, Catalunya, Spain and Canary Islands slun... the (one) driveway gave us the opportunity to escape, A trip that should have taken a couple of hours turned in to a full day by the time we were ready to stop. Then, for the second time on this trip, the hotel we had plugged in o PG turned out to be closed. No tourist information and nobody on the streets. Good thing the next hotel was open. Anyway, enough of that. The next day we woke to sunshine that just got better during the day. We checked out ...
Andorra la Vella, Andorra marybc... Festa Brava hotel. I seriously considered going snowboarding, but it was just too late in the season and the snow, though plentiful, was just too wet for my tastes. So I wandered about town, dodging the hourly rainfall and taking in the sights. Not too much to be seen here, but nice to look around a place I had no idea even existed!
Andorra la Vella, Andorra trent... and it was windy. We got very cold very fast. As luck would have there was a cafe at the top that was open so we had a hot choclate and listened to some crazy American woman try play her guitar and sing American folk songs or something very badly. So as much as we would have liked to stay and listen we made our way down. Very slowly as the roads where slick and you could not see very far. We were shivering down for the first 5 or 6 km ...
