... beggars for that matter but it poverty was obvious especially in the parks and on lots of street corners. From the fort looking over the river you could see what looks like a shanty town. ... We spent the morning exploring Manila's public train system, and trying to find the bus south to Batangas, which is where the ferry leaves from. When we finally located the bus station, the bus to Batangas was waiting outside ready to leave so without any preamble we jumped aboard. I'm sure I'll feel better soon. It's likely nothing sleep, decent food, and some free yakult from the breakfast buffet at the hotel won't take care of. (Although dairy based, that yakult looked like one of the creepy meth jar projects that Amanda would be brewing at home in the fridge so I snuggled it, shed a tear, and drank it with my eyes closed.)
