Arrived in Yixian today after a couple hour bus journey from Baoding. Not your every day Greyhound bus ride either as the journey was basically through villages and such and at one point the bus cut through a dirt road between cornfields to bypass some roadwork. ... well ?!?! Yes this sounds dodgy as hell but he admitted to me that it wasn't a real taxi (which was glaringly obvious anyway) and we laughed about it. He also asked me to pay him before we reached the hotel as he didn't want to be seen receiving cash from a foreigner - now is that shady business or is that SHADY business ;-) Quite weird but at the same time it felt kind of exciting, in Australia he'd be locked up ...
