... call it the Beverly Hills of northern LA.  The houses were ridiculous and it looked like Wysteria lane everywhere you looked. I got back and we went down for dinner.  We again employed the split meal strategy.  I ordered the prime rib and it was like an actual cross section of an entire cow.  Easily enough for the whole family. We had a good Napa red and headed for bed knowing we needed to be out to Universal Studios ...

... Lots of buskers and eateries and shops. Had a great beach town vibe and the sun was out, reminding us of home. We continued on around to block and back towards the beach where we jumped the bus for Venice Beach. Similar to Santa Monica, the beach is extraordinarily wide, but behind the sands there is a lot going on. The grassed parkland immediately off the beach was a hive of activity with the aforementioned sports and games going on. ...

... field. The bench seats were a bit uncomfortable, but for the great price we got the tickets, they were perfect. It was a night game, so we got there at 4:30 to grab our seats, wolf down a couple world famous dodger dogs, and hopefully catch a ball from the ongoing batting practice. ... of the two trams which run approximately every 10 minutes when it's busy - which it was today. One of the five towers has a tiny tray on the top that you can land a helicopter on (apparently). It didn’t look big enough to stand on. Hopefully that’s not our rescue plan. Angus always gets a kick out of these difficult constructions.

... I headed back over to the park area and watched the kids playing soccer for a while. There was such a community spirit amongst the area and I wondered if this was a regular weekend 'gathering'?

Afterwards I headed back towards the hotel and decided to stop in at 'Fat Burger' for some lunch. I enjoyed a lovely burger while sitting in their bar area watching the prelude to the Superbowl (American Gridiron Grand Final). In the time it took me to eat ...
