After a fun early Christmas weekend with our daughters, son-in-laws and grandkids, we started off on the first leg of our trip - driving down to Aiken, South Carolina. This trip I am determined to use up a handful of smaller activity books with the girls, and picked up three "leave where you are when finished" books from the local second hand book shop for each of us especially as the girls are avid readers. The dogs are off to a dear friend's home, the valuables off to mum & dad's and after a decent rest ... off on our exciting adventure to explore and enjoy ...

We went to the golf course and I spoke to the security guard who was just inside the entry gates. He advised me very politely that I was trespassing and that I could take as many photo's as I liked as long as I was outside of the gates.

... This is a nice place to just relax and enjoy Clarks Hill Lake. The park is about 50 miles from Augusta and on the weekend alot of people come to fish and enjoy the lake.
Tomorrow we move on the General Coffee State Park in Nicholls, Ga. for 2 nights and then on to see our 3 grandsons, one is playing football on Saturday, for 3 nights and then home on Monday 10/6.
