Day 136.5 The other part of the day :) We then chose to head back towards the beach, (hopefully away from the air traffic noise) we headed South East into North Carolina. We drove back across the North Carolina border, about 10-15 minutes, and rented a wonderful (brand new!) pontoon boat for a half day to cruise around Lake Gaston. Lake Gaston is beautiful - it reminds me a lot of Lake Minnetonka, the lake I lived on in Minnesota in a lot of ways. This trip was truly excellent. It really helped a lot of history come alive. We got to see Thomas Jefferson's Monticello (the one that appears on the nickel), James Monroe's Ashlawn Highland and visit Colonial Williamsburg. ... that was achieved! Now the planning for the travels can really begin. The house was on the market for 8 days when we received an offer to buy. Closing date is scheduled for June 1st. Due to our travel plans, we will plan to get everything in storage by June 25. Everything is really coming together!
