... far away from the bus stop while taking photos - it took us about 40 mins to reach Nuorilang Waterfall (诺日朗瀑० 7;). This was the last spot for the first branch. Nuorilang Waterfall is the widest waterfall in Juizhaigou, spanning some 325m across at its widest point.
Near to Nuorilang Waterfall is Nuorilang Service Centre (诺日朗服ࡃ 3;中心) where we had instant noodles for ...

The long windey road to Jujaigo snakes through northern Sechuan and the areas hit by the 2008 earthquake. The terrain is steep mountainous valleys with swiftly flowing streams. There are areas of flat ground where villages have sprung up next to the rivers. The hillsides are terraced in places and sheer cliffs in others. The valleys are semi-arid and seemed very dry while we were there.

Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan, China blummo... Sorry, that was probably a bit cynical of me, let's say "take care of". When I say "spy", I think what I mean is they had to subtly (ie, by giving the bar tender significant looks) try and stop him from drinking too much so that he would get back to base on time, which quite frankly is probably not in their job description and so they were awfully nice to us considering we got him plastered and made him break curfew. To be fair, I gave away one of his beers in a fit of ...
Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan, China iolair... ed in terms of seeing ANYTHING of the rest of the park. Sense of direction regained, and oriented somewhat properly this time (we still managed to somewhat mess up the route, but it's a long story, even duller to recount than what I've already been doing, so I'll spare the details here. It'll suffice to say that we succeeded in seeing nearly everything the park had to offer, and making our way back to the entrance in perfect time), we proceeded to snap, gasp ...
Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan, China ana.k... to stay in the park anymore, I have it on good authority that you can stay in the first village after the fork in the road on the left if you want, 30Y. That way you can skip the bus ticket for both days and enjoy the park before anyone else gets there in the early morning and late at night after all the tourists leave. Oh well, wish I knew that before. Jiuzhaigou is an incredibly beautiful place. It has everything that I love about nature treks ...
Jiuzhaigou, China rcys... m feeling much more refreshed after a huge nights sleep last night. Now it is time to go and fetch my washing from Emmas Cafe, book our tickets on tomorrow mornings empty tour coach, pack and after a hearty meal and a few beers sleep for the last night in wonderful Songpan. Next we are heading to Langmusi in Gansu. There are no buses that cross the ...
Songpan, China eddakath... leaving holes around them. The floor is made up of small tree branches and there is a gap of around ten to fifteen center meters from the 'grass' and the bottom of the 'tent' cloth. When it rains you WILL get wet along with your belongings so make sure you have a waterproof pack cover that you put on prior to leaving Songpan! Inside the 'tent': Besides the tree branch floor, you will then have a canvas tarp ...
Songpan, China eddakath... Chinese beauties that actually goes right through you each time. It had several tones and mate, he was so proud! The countryside was beautiful. We went through many small villages where people 'gazed in glorious wonder' at our bus and waved as we passed by. They were so happy our beautiful bus visited and passed through their little town of village in a beeping rage. In our bus were four other foreigners whom sat together ...
Songpan, China eddakath... in the blazing heat so I had to spend my time under a scarf so I didn't get frazzled. We arrived at a small cafe/shop, where the locals tried to fleece us for 10Y. We were having none of it though, and made sure they realised that. At this point we left those on the two day trek and carried on, over another mountain towards a waterfall. Well to be honest, this is when my vertigo kicked in. It was a case of don't look down, as the horses took the very edge of a path made of ...
