... but our suitcases are ready for the airport, whether we are or not.
We'll catch an early flight from Sacramento aboard a tiny plane to Los Angeles (a small American Eagle "commuter" jet). From there, we'll fly to Miami and an airport hotel. We're not escaping the cold any longer. It was unseasonably warm today as our drought continues and worsens. Miami will be more humid, but it won't be warmer.

... the plates of with cheese and then added some hot water to make the food warm. One plate even had some whipped cream on it. I was amazed about the care taken in preparing their food.
After allowing dinner to digest, we ended the evening with a little time in their hot tub. As always, a visit with John and Earlynn is a fun time. They are great hosts and always make us feel special.
Life is good.
I drove over to Folsom to have lunch with friends that I met last year in Washougal. Earlynn is my neighbor, Mike Thomas', sister. Her and her husband, John, were visiting with Mike and Patty last summer and Suzi and I had a great time getting to know them.

We drove to Davis for 8 hours, rested up for the ceremony that took place in the Pavilion on campus, and readied ourselves for the moment I had been waiting for for quite some time. Well, we didn't leave Carson City when we expected too..We had a plumbing problem and had to wait until Monday for the part to arrive and be installed. Tuesday we left via Reno, where we had to stop and pick up another part, and then down I80, over Donner Pass and then on to Sacramento.
