... and the "open" sign was no longer illuminated.

I made casual mention that we must have bought the last tickets. Soon a park ranger showed up and announced that power was out in the whole park and most of the town.

Apparently they have one main power pole that someone decided to run a truck into.

Another stunningly smooth liftoff and 3.5 hour flight from Little Rock to Dothan, AL. I kept it low just below the Class C airspace while opening my flight plan with Flight Service. JD is in high gear this morning. Took the truck into town for gas and quick Egg McMuffin breakfast. Pack up was quick and on the road by 8:00 am. JD wants to make it in 3 days so we're trying to do 470 miles today. Destination Dothan, AL. It turned 83 degrees in Montgomery - driving with the windows down - nice! Arrived earlier than planned at Pecan Point RV Park, set up and relaxed. Nice level site, easy access, facilities not that great, just ...

We checked out of the hotel in Daytona and drove directly to the huge J&P Cycles Shop in Ormond Beach to get a few more items for the bike to make our ride a bit more comfy. Then we drove into St. Augustine and spent a few hours with David's business partner and our friend Barrett. We ate at a sushi restaurant (where I got my first taste ever of Toro tuna) and then went back to his house on the St. John's River. I got to ...
