Once clear of the vessels.... Jerry pointed out the Norfolk Southern Coal Company he managed (before his retirement,) with ships loading alongside with coal. The Crane operating, is the largest operating crane at present in the world, (apart from the crane used to shift Apollo for its launch)...The company has been loading ships with coal coming out of Virginia ...

We walked past the Savannah Police Station and they had a couple of antique police cars out the front. This car still has a few blood stains from a fight outside a nearby bar which does not exist anymore. The police were set upon by the drinkers because they were asking the men to move off the road. Barry started causing trouble and played hide and seek. Took me a little while to find him but his new friend was a bad influence and encouraged him.

We walked back to the hotel via Bay Street, which is the road above River Street. There was some eery & ghostly sites on the way back due to the humidity and spanish moss.
