... So viel ist schon passiert, so wenig habe ich bisher erlebt. Neue Freunde, eine 2te Familie und ein ganz anderes Leben erwarten mich hier. New York, meine neue Liebe!

Jetzt, mit mehr Zeit und Muse widme ich mich dem langersehnten Lebenszeichen. :)

Viel Spaß beim lesen!

Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany newyorklovesmeMy God, what a month!
For the last month, I've had the wonderful pleasure of hanging out in the company of my fantastic American friends. I already told you about my adventures in Ireland, but that was not the last of my travels. Next stop, I took the overnight train to Cinque Terre to meet my wonderful girl, Katie. Together Katie and I explored the five cities of Cinque Terre. These cities are located close together along the Mediterranean in ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jluetkehans... this about one of my favourite cities so we continued to show them around the city and told them all of the interesting facts we could remember from our walking tour.
The next day we travelled to Milan, then to Briggs, then Basel, then up to Freiburg, Germany. We got lost trying to find the hostel in the dark so it took us about an hour of walking to find it. It was a cool hostel though- huge common area and nice kitchen and beds that were not bunkbeds ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany steveandwhitney... animals moldered on the mantel. In the parlor, obviously a once beautiful room, the ceiling literally fell. Ivy grew into the interior through little gaps in the stone. Suddenly I was transported into Wuthering Heights or Jane Eyre. This house was the most romantic place I've ever experienced.
Sarah's family only added to the ambiance. Her mother, a typically Irish woman, sweetly offered tea at every possible moment, mothering us as only the Irish can. A ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jluetkehansKoln

After our Rhine cruise we drove in the coach to Koln (Cologne). Cologne is well-known for a few things, including perfume (4711 in particular), its Roman origins (as a colony – hence the name) and for its twin spired Gothic cathedral. We stopped for a little over an hour in the main square.

The cathedral houses the bones of the three Magi ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany woodsfamilyThis is not a great adventure, more a welcome back.

It is great to be back in Villiprott to visit our old friends since the 70ies. Now I have been staying with them for two weeks and we have done a lot of different things. This part of Germany have many interesting places to visit, both nature and culture.
Villiprott, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany erikdal... and Amsterdam in Netherlands. Philip and Lawrence both took their cars over for the tour, with highlight of the Nürbergring racetrack. As they say, what happens on tour stays on tour, but we had a brilliant time. Here's a few pictures and video's from the Germany part of the trip, courtesy of Elias, who had the commonsense to bring a camera.
Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany danielringrose... s hard to ship over and the camera turned out to be ther right thing.

I’m amazed at the pace the Pasechnyk’s work. While they are very busy with phone calls coming in and people asking to see him in his office, there is always time to just STOP, have coffee and tea and talk. They commented how much they appreciated having me around because I was easy to talk to. It was interesting observing to see who came by. Various ...
Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany victorkubik... Honestly. Studying should be fun. The place where I study at the moment is anything but fun... I've only been to Cologne for a couple of weeks, but I'm already in love with it. I can feel it's a place of possibilities. Things just happen as you live. You don't have to struggle the slow death of the ambitious artist, because your life is all about the arts. I can picture how it's gonna be. Studying, working part-time, trying to ...
Bonn, Germany yellowdragon... June 25, 2005 I went to visit Julie in Leverkusen, a.k.a. Bayer-ville. It seems like Bayer owns that city. The view from her window is a little creepy to me. You can see many huge, tall smokestacks, a SmartCar tower, and this huge Bayer cross. Plus, it was raining, so everything seems dreary. I like my little village a lot better. It is really industrialized and is actually what I thought all of Germany would look like. I am glad there are only a few places that look like ...
