      ... s wonderful old axe - dating back to the mid 1700s, but of course extended and added-on, and rebuilt etc, but is now huge and magnificent.       Ringebu district in Norway has a family connection in that Avis' grandfather's adoptive father was born in this area. His name was Peder Moen and he adopted Einar Moen (Avis' grandfather) when Einar was very young. The Moen family goes back some generations in this area so we were interested in the history here. Ringebu is quite close to Lillihammer so some Olympic events were held here in 1994.
