    The Norge Vegmuseum - not what you would think. This is Norwegian for the Norway Road Museum in Lillehammer. At the moment it has a display called "Racing" - Norwegian race and rally cars and motorbikes. There is also an extensive permanent display of roading machinery, some old buildings and an underground mine that you can walk through. It was really good and an easy way to spend a few hours.     Stopped for lunch at a Norwegian Burger place in Otta where there is a lovely statue of a young lady that warned the Norwegians that the Scots were on their way to invade. I'll have to do some research and add a bit of detail here. Pictures to follow

We spent the day there today, eating, drinking, eating drinking, and the girls managed to give the wallets some exercise, while my only extravagance was to buy a big tub of my favourite black olives from a Greek stand selling nothing but olives in twenty different varieties.     Ringebu district in Norway has a family connection in that Avis' grandfather's adoptive father was born in this area. His name was Peder Moen and he adopted Einar Moen (Avis' grandfather) when Einar was very young. The Moen family goes back some generations in this area so we were interested in the history here. Ringebu is quite close to Lillihammer so some Olympic events were held here in 1994.
