- Barbecue at the one of the student`s dormitory. - THE song: We had to perform a song this evening in front of alle the first year students. The song was our invention. We were just given a couple of words and had to make up everything else. Here`s the practise..... :)

Here are some pictures from the opnening ceremony, the treisure hunt and the party in the evening. The treisure hunt was organized by the students comitee. Every class had "Fadere" -> mentors or guides. We went through Notodden and had to fullfill differnt tasks. Very funny! :)

... and it associated red coloured church. Very picturique with most houses in this Norwegian town having traditional wooden walls and slate roof. Trying to speak Norwegain but when they realise i am from England they either speak English or ignore me all together. One other note it is expensive to shower here costing 15 Nkr (about £1.30) to have hot water. Got a feeling i better get use to cold water or i am going to stink.

We asked K Paw Gay not to fix anything special for breakfast, but she did. It was so nice to see how she and her husband Htee Hser worked together such as in the meal preparation the night before. He was peeling potatoes and nicely cutting them up. He was very friendly to us. He is studying computers and had a laptop. I wanted to connect to their wireless network but he did not know the WEP key for the network ...

... I'm coming off the hill. As soon as I cut over, I get reamed by this skier, pounding me into the netting on the side of the run. I come over the netting and desperately try to hang on to it. I instead flip over the netting, lose hold of it and plunge down the rocky slope. I am extremely lucky as my board gets caught in between two rocks, saving me from falling all the way down, and I come away injury free ...

I saw the northern lights for the first time tonight! It was so cool! They were this soft green pulsing sort of movement that just floated around and danced just over the tree tops. It's so much cooler to see it in real life than it is on TV! Now, I just need to see a Norwegian moose and I will have seen all the things I was hoping to see before leaving. Then again, maybe I should save the moose sighting for another trip back to visit. I arrived here at Joe's ...

Hey, again, I'm at work, so I must keep this short. Time has flown by and it's my last day here. I wrote an entry offline about it last night that i'll post later. Tonight I pack up my stuff and head to Oslo with Jo-Petter to scope out the city and meet up with the other PLU students on Wednesday. I think I'll be in Hamar by Friday or Saturday. I might even have internet by Sunday! No promises. Anyway, I'm happy and healthy. More later!

Eventually, the sun set and we decided to wait a while and see if we could spot the moon coming up. I layered up a bit since the wind was starting to give me goose bumps and we had some pop and cookies. It was worth the wait. It turned out to be the most impressive moon rising I've seen.
