... couple of weeks, although you never know. I can just imagine what it must be like in spring or summer. We just scratched the surface, so much wilderness, beautiful lakes, forests, a place for escape and adventure.

Time to regroup, laundry, sort clothes. coming to the end of the Toronto leg. A bout of shopping tomorrow, David back from Amsterdam, get organised for the next stage, our road trip to Montreal, Stowe, and the family reunion in Boston & Plymouth.

... to a yummy lunch at the Wrights, then the six of us headed out in the speedboat. Perfect weather and Katie and I had been given front seats in the boat so we had prime view as we arrived on the island. We were met by Sharon who is a close friend of the owners, the Eades. We could not get inside but could look through windows. Amazingly very little has changed since Mum holidayed there. The cottage was much the same, even the kitchen table and chairs, shingle ...

Pioneer Camps are Christian Camps and it was there in 1939 that she went alone out into the forest to to pray about her future with Dad. Glad she didn't meet a bear! Stayed night at Huntsville. Dad came skiing here winter 37/38. There is a photo in Bob's collection of Dad here ...

It must have been weird for them to join in on a tour with a group of people that have already known each other for what felt like forever (it really did), but we got along very well and happily made our sub-group to a not-so-much-sub-group for this second part of the trip.

... s wifi and I know I’ll be spending time on my gadgets. It was interesting to note that every tap had a ‘Boil Water Advisory’ sign. Apparently if water in Ontario isn’t chlorinated, it’s not safe to drink but the water at this campsite has been supplied by an underground spring that has never dried up. It was first tapped in the 1930s for a lodge that was built there at the time. Obviously some ‘politics’ being played out.
