The sun did not appear as predicted. It tried a few times but was not successful. However, I headed into Algonquin Park anyway and hiked around Peck Lake and checked out a few other trails, despite the horrible condition of the trails due to the recent bad weather. Also stopped at the info centre for a look around. Apparently the colour showing is at 70% right now, so not quite ...

      ... in.

The day turned out to be quite nice. Some overcast sky, some clouds and mostly sunny by the afternoon. I’d thought to move quickly through Ontario and spend a few days driving along the Fall Foliage routes in Vermont and New York but have decided to take my time in Ontario instead. Leaving Sault Ste Marie on another rainy morning, we took the northern route to North Bay and then down highway 11 to the Muskoka lake area. Arriving at adorable Huntsville, we went for a stroll on the public docks where Stella jumped in and tried to retrieve an exposed post that was just showing above the water. It was hilarious watching her try to grab it and gave us and some other tourists a ...

      ... out!

Upon arriving into Ontario, we stayed at a nice place outside of the Algonquin Park. Algonquin Lakeside Inn is the name and we'd recommend it. It's a nice, quiet place. Atleast it was when were there.

Alright, so why were were visiting Ontario? We decided to do something active and a great way to see the best of Algonquin Provincial Park is to canoe through it. Ben did the research and looked into ...

... the deck we went out on the boat. After about 15 minutes on the lake taking in the amazing views the boat cut out. Jason tried to fix it but it ended up him and Amanda paddling in to a dock. We tied up the boat and a neighbour drove us back. I guess it was not our destiny to wakeboard. On Thursday we got a lift with Amanda into Bracebridge to rent a car. After trying two rental places we had no luck so Amanda drove us to Huntsville and dropped us off there. We had a lovely ...
