London Baby Yeah!

... to it feeling very very surreal to actually being here. So we wandered down the road and before long came across the natural history museum and Harrods!

Then motherofgodalmighty did we find the street of my dreams and the dreams of women world wide. Gucci, Pucci, Prada, Versace, Armani, Jimmy Choo, Chloe, Burberry, YSL, all on the one strech of road!

Hit the Tower of London after that and the rain decided to join us. Yup the ...

taking it just a little lighter

Well we stayed local today going off to the Brit. Museum for half the day, Jim and I both wanted to collect images and Jim's mom wanted to view a few items she had not had the chance to see in past visits. Lunch around 2pm and then we headed to St. Paul’s just to find it closing at 4pm so we left Jim’s mom at a bakery with a coffee. I only got about 3 blocks away before the heavens opened up and had to dive for cover. Back to the bakery for coffee myself and wait ...

Last day in lovely London and onto Paree

... let someone else into her other apartment. We just collapsed for a little while because we were so tired. The apartment is quite nice. There is much more room for us than the hotel room in London. Jean has her own bedroom and I have my own room with a Queen sized bed. The most exciting thing about the apartment is the washer/dryer as we desperately needed to wash some things. It took awhile reading the manual and asking Isabelle a few questions but I mostly figured it out I ...

... in England) that had recently opened. However, it is not like any Westfield I've ever been too. The first stores as we walked in were Prada, Gucci, Louis V, Tiffany's, De Beers, Chanel etc etc. There were a few other more normal stores (200 at the least) to have a nosey round in though. I didn't buy anything (I know - weird!!) but Lydia and Kylie found a bunch of stuff they liked. The following day we went to Buckingham palace and just happened to be there at ...

London. Now with more Doctor Who

... of more crowds. You enter down into the sort of basement thing and on either side are Autons. (The plastic dummy things.) They've been wired up to twitch and move as you go past. I kind of regard the Autons as the least scary villain ever except for that giant eye in Baldur's Gate now that I think about it. I mean, it's an eye. What's it going to do? Squint at you? Sorry, distracted. But it was pretty cool to have them twitch and move as you went by. They have ...

Jet Set, Go

Just a quick entry because I want to fit the London Eye in before I meet a friend for dinner. I am having a wonderful time traveling so far. I was in Edinburgh for 2 nights/3 days and will be here in London for a total of 3 nights/4 days. The hostel in Edinburgh was fabulous. The hostel here in London is the worst I've ever been to in my life ...

First impressions of London and the British Museum

... Later we walked down to the Thames, a long walk that exposed us to a phenomenon we called the "Black Hole". Between the Ridgemount and the Thames, near the British Museum, lies an intersection that we could not navigate. We headed off south (toward the Thames) and very shortly found ourselves three blocks east of where we thought we were and still heading east. The same thing happened on our return, even though we had managed to get ourselves all the way to the Thames (a ...

... of Thames river starting from Westminster Pier to London Bride and back. 4. Finally we went to Madame Tussuad where many famous people were made from wax. They looked so real - it wasn't funny (see pictures). So by the time we got back to our hotel room - we were just stuffed. We managed to rest ok and will prepare to go to Romania today. We will put more stuff on our trip from there. Hope everybody is well. Roxy and Vlad 4.

... up having tickets for Eqqus (a play about a disturbed horse worshiping youth, featuring Daniel Radcliffe as the main character...and yes he gets naked) for only £22.50. So I ended up calling Emily to see if she wanted to join me, and bought two tickets. Then headed to Wagamama for some Japanese food while I waited for her to arrive. I got some plum wine, udon noodles (with scampi, chicken, and tofu with a sweet and sour peanut sauce ...
