... I went to Phuket. I had that free weekend that I won at the St. George’s Ball last year and had to use it before the end of the month. The hotel was fabulous. Friday night we didn’t feel like going anywhere so we had a really nice buffet dinner at the hotel. Everything was in small individual cups, which was great for portion control! After dinner we both crashed.
Saturday morning we had a nice buffet breakfast which was included in ...
... sea was too rough to really enjoy snorkeling and the sun was not out so the fish and coral will not be as bright. I gave Cob a 500baht tip and thanked him for his assistance on the the two trips we had with him.
Back to the room a beer and a relaxing Thai massage with the waves crushing on to the shore and the breeze in the trees how can one leave. Up to Jasmin's for lunch sat talking with Peter and had chicken wings and yes Spring Rolls 2 singha's, then back to the comfort of the ...
... we looked out the window to gauge where we were but could only see clouds and could not judge when we would touch down.... there was a fast beeping sound from the front of the plane and just then the roar of engines could be heard as they were suddenly heading steeply upwards with the engines on full throttle!! Silence from the passengers and all that was rushing through my mind was that I had so much more to still achieve in ...
Phuket, Thailand kingsandems... mood for a romantic NYE! it also reminded us that we were poor lowly backpackers. We had NYE down at the famous Patong Beach which was pretty cool, but it's a tragic place if you ask me, lots of dodgy 60 yr old white men holding hands with shes, hes and no doubt 'heshes'! but it was an experience all the same, we went down to the sand, lit a paper lantern, let it go and locked lips at midnight! Ha what a cliche' but I spose that's why they're cliche's right ...
Phuket, Thailand ryanandbek... the bars were shut and that they were after stocking up their fridge with alcohol. When we got to Phuket we got a bus to our accommodation, we were staying in the same motel as the two boys. After dropping the bags we headed to the beach, according to the lonely planet it is amazing. When we arrived there we were taken away by the sight. It really had nothing to do with the beauty of the beach, just the amount of people around. It is a massive stretch of beach and full of ...

Everytime when I travel, I ...
... a little while. I think it'd be great for me. I'll have to decide if I want this or a trip to Vietnam or whatever. It'd be nice to get away from the groups for a while. Something to think about. I'm no Bourdain, no MacGuyver, but in the face of my inherent bashfulness, my deep-down desire for the comforable and the known, I would like to think that I'm doing pretty well thus far, and haven't gone for want much at all. I only wish I hadn't brought so much stuff. I ...
Phuket, Thailand nearhelsinki... food stalls and restos. I had one of the best veggie burgers ever at JJ's just down the road from my place. The seafood was always good. I had a massage every day! There are still four or five beaches I didn't get to. I'll have to go back next year. Phuket 6/12 - 6/15 I had to fly out of Phuket International Airport on the 16th which left me only four days including travel time. I reluctantly decided to blow off Krabi and ...
Phuket, Thailand superg... the ceremony some sort. Anyways, they dont release it everyday. Only a particular day to give your offering. While we were releasing the kratongs, Mimi paddled and messed the water. "Look Look", he said. And we saw some glittering sparks of light blue in color in the water. He said it is a type of plankton that lights up in the water. We paddled the water by our hand and we did indeed saw the gliterring sparks too! Very extraordinary. Like the fireflies in the water :) By ...
Phuket, Thailand chelsina... s bungalow, and decide to rent motorbikes. I have never TOUCHED a motorcycle in my life, let alone rode one. The closest I have come to a motorcycle is standing outside on a street next to one. I rent my own, and Travis rents one and has Chelsea ride on the back. When I pull out of the driveway of the place we rented it at (which by way costs about 3.00 USD per day to rent, with NO INSURANCE NECESSARY OR THAI DRIVING LICENSE) I accidentally ...
