... a few of my course mates and I met up for a drink to say farewell. It was sad to say goodbye to the people I've worked with for the last year. I've been closer to my course-mates at Durham than I ever really was with my fellow Global Politics people in undergrad, and they were a great group of people to know.

The greatest tragedy, however, will be saying goodbye to my college friends. Luckily I still have a few more days before I have ...

So after a nice pub dinner in the Town Hall pub we booked ahead for another night to stay in Blackpool, one day earlier than ...

... Depart" from Yorkshire and we drove along much of the route/s where the locals had put out on display and in a show of support, many yellow painted bicycles, polka dot and yellow (maillot jaune) jerseys.

The weather was good up until we got to Yorkshire and then it was like someone had flicked a switch and summer was gone, replaced by much cooler and wetter weather, but not bad enough for us to get out and about.

Highlights Included:

... lots of shops, a 13th century castle ruin and the Parish Church. We are surprised by how charming and interesting it is. Our first stop is the Parish Church. During the reformation all the 15th century wall paintings were white washed over. Then in the 18th century a few started showing through and they were whitewashed again. Now they have been uncovered and they are far and away ...
