Everything about the Cliff Side Suites was perfect. The views are AMAZING!! All of the suites look directly out at the Aegean sea and great views of the Santorni coastline, including views of incoming cruise ships. The accommodations are perfect and comfortable, including small indoor and outdoor seating and a small kitchenette. The hotel is quite; however, we were there before the tourist season got into full swing. The location is ideal for walking to restaurants and shops. Above all the staff is friendly and accommodating; providing recommendations and helping make arrangements for our group.

Fast Jet Boat that took so long

... picked up so we are literally rocking and rolling back and forth. Rather eerie when you can't see outside anymore. I guess they have done this trip numerous times. Time to go and find something to eat I think. OMG. Never take the fast jet from Santorini to Athens. Nearly eight hours later we finally arrived! Some of the kids threw up as well as some adults in the rough bits. No fun. Never mind we are here now and in our hotel where we'll be for the next three ...

... The saganaki is very different to that from home. It is much lighter. I'm not sure about the beer - it's called Yellow Donkey.

There are lots and lots and lots of steps to get up and down from our room. I certainly need something to compensate for all that food. The sunset is beyond spectacular. No wonder everyone raves about it. We sleep for seemingly the first time in ...

... Just like a Benny Hill comedy sketch.. My sides were aching. All a bit daunting but we were ok and just hanging on and hoping!! After the guy helps you get on your faithful (?) steed he calls out a few Greek words to them and they just start walking up the path... He does follow behind with a big stick (but luckily he didn't have to hit me!!). No reins and no control at all and as you come up to tourists walking the other way ...

        Naoussa

... water to swim in, although I imagine to be very busy during the summer months. I didn't make it to the winery, as I had had enough wine at this time. Asked for a white wine with lemonade and asked if I wanted a lemon squeezed into the wine!?! There was a wee boat which took people over to the beach from the port in Naoussa for 5euro. I wasn't overly impressed with Naoussa and probably could have done with one night spent here, however it was an experience. And on to Ios!!!!! ...

I'm home...my beautiful Greece how I missed you

A travel blog entry by lor11620 on Jun 08, 2010

... they taught me, I found myself. When we had to leave, I was devastated. It was that summer that I truly lost a piece of my heart.

Since the day we left, on August 29, 2004, I have spent every minute trying to get back again. I was so torn up about having to leave that summer that when I came home to my small hometown of Massachusetts, a sixteen year old who had experienced so much in the course of a month, I could not connect with my friends anymore. I would see my ...
