Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany marggraf... So viel ist schon passiert, so wenig habe ich bisher erlebt. Neue Freunde, eine 2te Familie und ein ganz anderes Leben erwarten mich hier. New York, meine neue Liebe!

Jetzt, mit mehr Zeit und Muse widme ich mich dem langersehnten Lebenszeichen. :)

Viel Spaß beim lesen!

Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany newyorklovesmeNot a whole lot of anything new to report here. Today was the first day of the 5th season in Germany, carnival season. At 11:11 am there was a parade and some kind of speech by the mayor or someone important. I didn't go because I was far too occupied sleeping. I did, however, go a bit later to catch a few people wandering around in costumes and see a band playing in the city square. The one in Dusseldorf is supposedly not near as awesome as the ...

Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany cariverga... these men, we learned that their mugs are from the early 1900s, and have been passed down from father to son for generations. When these mugs and the Hofbrauhaus were created, Bavaria was still its own independent monarchy--a political situation these men are keen on returning to!
From there, Katie and I returned to Cologne, and were there later reunited with the crew. We all had a fantastic, and at sometimes slightly too crazy time exploring ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jluetkehans... coming home? In July, but whether or not I'll stay is another story.

12.) Do you like it in Germany? Yes, I like it but that doesn't mean I'm going to stay here forever either.

13.) Is it cold there? The weather is basically just like it is in Oregon. It's rainy and once in awhile it snows in the winter, but only a couple of inches. In the summer it's not quite as hot, but that's not a bad thing for me.

14.) What do you miss about ...
Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany torilusk(Whitney)

We had a long trip from Naples all the way up to the Black Forest in Germany so we split it up with a stop overnight in Florence. We love Florence so we were excited to go back again. We arrived in the afternoon so we did some quick shopping and bought a leather jacket each. We also went and had a look in the Duomo as we never got a chance to actually go in when we were there last time. We had dinner at the hostel with two Aussies from our room ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany steveandwhitneyThis is not a great adventure, more a welcome back.

It is great to be back in Villiprott to visit our old friends since the 70ies. Now I have been staying with them for two weeks and we have done a lot of different things. This part of Germany have many interesting places to visit, both nature and culture.
Villiprott, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany erikdal... again!!!! The wedding came at the end of 2 years of ************ our degrees (Regine 2, me 1 3/4 degrees). Regine finished her studies, I finished my General Practice training and we had no job to go to to start off with. That prompted us to say we'd like to take time off until Christmas to travel. After all that is our favourite joint passion and what got us together in New Zealand in 2003. So here we are at the start of that grand trip of four months... let's see what happens!
Bergisch Gladbach, Germany wenzels... in some non-football related sight-seeing - well just a little! Our two favourite things were the stationary wave in the Englisher Garten, where a heap of surfers gather every day to surf the wave in the river, and the Dachau Concentration Camp, just outside of Munich, which was a kind of horrifying but really worthwhile place to visit. The Brazil match took place inside the Allianz Arena, which resembles something of a spaceship from the outside and inside is a massive bowl of a ...
