It must have had a little bit of sugar in it as it was denser., but as they put the batter in the waffle iron, they wrinkle it was sugar so that it caramelises. "cornet” of Frittes (chips in a packet with an assortment of sauces available)
with a beer on a street table, followed by dinner in a food street crammed with
cafes, tables and people (a bit reminiscent of Lygon St of old, with the
hawkers trying to entice the tourists into their cafe)– we ate a fare of
traditional mussels (moule) with fritte, garlic snails and for drinks, fell
into the trap of ordering a nice sounding ...
... the latter J. There was also a huge amount of close up photos of Keegan’s face. I had advised the girls that Keegan likes this. They must have taken hundreds of just Keegan’s face.
At the apartment I also spent a lot of time playing with Jade’s little dog Gustav, probably the cutest dachshund I have ever seen.
By this time our hangovers had gotten the better of us (especially Keegan) and so we had to go to bed.
Our last day in Antwerp ...
... is wonderful. A couple days here looks like it will be a wonderful idea before we make our way to the next big city - the one and only Amsterdam. Everything is within walking distance, the people are nice, and the perks (chocolate, beer, waffles) are awesome. With a bit more planned for tomorrow, I'm excited to see what will come for us in the morning. Now with a local brew in hand, I bid thy readers farewell. Until tomorrow, cheers friends =)
