    ... in pasta tubes with plenty of whole seafood on the side. It was just OK, but the seafood was good.

    Travel tip: the area around the cathedral has lots of shops and hotels and is very colorful. If I were going to stay in Malta, that would be the place.

    The taxi that took us there was an overgrown Vespa and held only 3 passengers. I wish I had a picture of it.

    We headed out of town to Achilleion Palace, the retreat for the Empress Elizabeth of Austria. We had learned about her life when we were in Vienna last year. She built this house in Corfu in late 19th century style and decorated it with Gods of Ancient Greece, primarily Achilles for which the palace is named.     We arrived in Corfu in quite heavy rain. We had organized a hire car for €43 which was very reasonable, and decided we would continue on with our plans. We drove to Paleokastritsa Bay which would have been beautiful on a nice day with a very rugged coastline and beaches.     Day 46 - Corfu Greek Island
    This morning we were up early to participate in a behind the scenes ship tour we signed up for. There was only room for a maximum of 40 passengers. The cost of the tour was about 35pp. Toby had complained about having to pay to tour the ship. On the P&O it is free. Anyway I wanted to do it so i signed us up.
