... trip to the Vatican City and as I wandered through the museum and then into St Peter's, I just couldn't help but wonder whether this was what Jesus was on about. From memory, the papacy of the 16th and 17th centuries (I think!) lost the plot a little bit, and while their legacy is an incredibly impressive series of buildings, well... anyway. AND I was fascinated to learn that most of the marble of St Peter's was stipped off the Coloseum! Remarkable!

... up with a couple of friends of my compadre. The sun fell and the night lights of the London provided a whole different flair to the city. The Monument looked amazing, London Bridge offered an awesome look across the Thames River of St. Paul's Cathedral... it was great. So next, we made it to Soho where there were pubs and small restaurants very much alive. Overall this day was well... a blast! ...

Monday, I took the tube (subway) into downtown London, all by myself! It was my first time every riding on a subway, and I was quite surprised how easy it was. There was a moment about a month ago when one adventure ended and a new one started. It had nothing to do with flying off to hot places or sitting on a beach.

I stood up in front of a microphone and sang 3 songs with my friend Alex. For those of you who recognise the 'Eddy' in the photo it was indeed the infamous Thursday night Open Mic session and for once this wasn't our cue to leave! It took me 2 songs to realise that I was too far from the microphone ...

... and the baked items were sooo good! After Groningen we went to Enkhuizen and crossed the ducts. We stayed there for a few dogs while Thom shot a video for Brava tv in the Netherlands. The people were very nice, and the dog Toomie was the biggest Golden Retriever I have ever seen! He was very nice though and we became good friends while we were there. The town was small, but like the rest of the Netherlands the buildings leaned a ton! In general ...
