... driver received a lengthy round of applause from the passengers ! Amalfi is beautiful, lovely beach and harbor at the from and old cobbled streets leading up into town. We wondered up into the town and found our way to "A'Sciulla" a small shop selling lemon granita, gelato and yoghurt. We had fantastic crema de limone gelato topped with fresh fruit whilst I chatted to the owner about football ( he was not happy with my ...

Early in the morning we sped away in a Mercedes Benz minivan heading south towards Napoli. We drove and drove and drove until we reached Napoli and the exit for Pompeii. Our driver took us to the area where we met our tour guide for the Pompeii excavation site. Our guide was wonderful; She took us to the back entrance/exit to avoid the queue and the hoards of tour groups. Through the gates of Pompeii we entered the exercise yard and areas where the gladiators were housed. This entire ...

... from the group and she took us to where we wanted. We walked through the island to the other side to Marina Piccolo to the beach.

The beach was absolutely perfect. It was very exclusive and a stone beach. The water was an amazing turquoise color and perfectly clear. We laid out for a while and when we went to cool off, we ran into the water only to find ourselves in a jellyfish field… it was terrifying and we had to run out ...
