    ... make some people squeamish. Dishes may include blood sausage, donkey snout, chitterlings or tripe. I know reading those words on a computer screen doesn't sound very appealing. I personally tried the local chitterlings which was mixed into mashed potato. I also sampled some other items, which I am not entirely sure what type of meat was used and it is probably better that way. The food was different but tasty. For all the foodies out there Lyon is worth a visit. ...

    ... to see David, so head off to his queue. However, it's going to be 2 hrs in the blazing heat...couldn't do it. So linch instead. J keen for the inevitable pizza, so we decide to avoid the tourists & head off on our own. Found a market just clearing away, & checked a couple of restaurants before finding the ideal one! Pizzas were 4 euros! Not a tourist in sight either. Delicious pizzas too..

    This is the day! A two and a bit hour train trip to Perugia to see THE show! We managed to find our way to the Platform with seconds to spare as our booked train had been cancelled and as we had arrived early were able to board an earlier train as it was pulling out........without breakfast!     After leaving Cortona we slipped briefly out of Tuscany to visit nearby Assisi in the province of Perugia. Resting place for St Francis it was sombre to visit his tomb under the church there, however the rest of the town has been transformed into a religious tourist destination. What said it all was the carousel outside one of the churches that was adorned with religious motifs...note the Francescan monks in the background. ...
