... site to behold. No wonder it was the backdrop for Walt Disney movies. Lots of photos in different angles can be taken outside but once we entered the castle for our tour photography is not allowed. And besides I wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of the law in Germany. We had 3 hrs allowed at the castle so plenty of time to take in the sites. And plenty of walking ...

Château de Chillon is a castle on an island right near the shore of Lake Geneva. The castle has been meticulously restored between 1900 and today, and it is like a museum showing what everyday life would have been like in this region throughout the Middle Ages, as well as about local history, warfare and architecture. We took a self guided ...

... was so easy to find as it was clearly marked. We had a little help from some friendly locals who smiled and pointed us in the right direction as they leisurely cycled past. We were greeted at the hostel by friendly staff and a lobby full of people. The transition was smooth as they handed us the keys to our room and some clean sheets. We had no idea what to expect of our room, but from what we have heard, the Swiss have very high ...
