... name brand shops in our little area but the narrow streets lined with more boutique purveyors was much nicer in our opinion and we enjoyed looking around a bit as the afternoon wore on. Bree decided to be brave and made an appointment for a haircut that evening so we dinked around a bit more until the time came and I headed to the hotel while she went for a trim. It almost always takes us under half that time to get there and figuring out public transport can take forever, especially if you jump on the wrong bus / tram and need to back track. A day trip from Lucerne to Interlarkin made up for this however. The train ride was something to mention in itself! Our train went all over the place. Wound around, went through and most impressively went uphill, I didn't even know that was possible on normal train tracks. The scenery was very beautiful! Mountains layered, trees sprinkled from top to bottom with white powdery snow and glistening lakes in between. Switzerland sure ...

I arrived in Zurich, Switzerland after an 8 hour train from Brussels which was thankfully quite comfortable (I also bought a sandwich in Luxembourg... Can I say I've been to Luxembourg now?). My tennis host Adrian kindly met me at the station and we walked to his apartment which is in a great location in the centre of Zurich. We went for a beer at a local riverside pub which was atmospheric. Thursday I walked around the old town of Zurich. You can tell it is a ...
