... part, and I joined them on their last day for a 10k walk. Very 'gezellig' and great to spend some time with Dutch kids. Regina is the daughter of John's cousin Erwin, and his wife Mirjam, who we stayed with.

It was fantastic to see the town flying its colours for Holland's team, Ons Oranje. (H)

... t. As it was the beginning of a long week-end in Holland-and the cabins were fully booked-we had to bite the bullet & tackle the headwind across the bridge. Hannah did well to battle the elements & we finally made the crossing in 3 hours. We stopped for a snack and got out our stove to make ourselves some hot cuppas as a reward. The girls had fun rolling down a nearby dyke.

... in German was a challenge, but we tried our best. After the service, a couple men came up to us to tell us that they were related to us as well! Such a friendly, friendly people and church. I am so proud that our ancestors came from this community. We went to Derene's house afterward to have coffee, cookies and chat some more. Prawn Pasta and Knives

I showed my utter strength while setting the table for the Prawn pasta meal that Sarah cooked. I dropped the knife and it broke in two. Now your all thinking that has happened a million times, flimsy plastic knives, and this is where you would be wrong, this was no flimsy plastic knife but a normal run of the mill stainless steel knife.
