    ... We went to the King Bee Restaurant with Paula’s girlfriends for dinner – she has some lovely friends.

    3rd April- caught the train to NYC from Union Station. Was a bun fight getting onto a seat and finding one together. Trip was three and a half hours and we were in our apt near Grand Central by about 3.30. That night caught up with Cheryl and had drinks at her hotel but went home early.     ... I am pretty sure he started sneezing within moments of saying the words and he had the pleasure of a cold for the remainder of our trip.

    New York was so cold when we arrived - actually it was freezing the whole time we were there!

    After two massive bowls of delicious salad, for a very late dinner at the 24 hour Tick Tock Cafe, we ventured out from the hotel to explore. Pretty sure we only got about 300 metres up the road when we decided it was way too cold ...

    Long haul across the Atlantic. Were not aware that the flight stopped over in Dakar, so middle of the night wake up call did not go down well with the kids. SAA were awesome and Luke got some special birthday treatment.

    ... was easy to locate by the long queue of people waiting outside. The wait was not that long and we had some live music to entertain us. The bakery itself is this small Italian bakery, and inside it's like any other bakery shop (except that it sells Cake Boss merchandise as well as cakes and sweets).
