    ... to roll in. The sisters made us some great porridge and soon we were off again, along the mountain tops. On the first day we had walked a total of 14km with an ascent of 1000m and I was rather impressed with how well I coped. The second day was the big one. 17 km and a further 400m ascent which was going to be a real test.     ... after us calling for the dogs! We waited (800m at this altitude is a slow jog at best) and he carried Poppy back to the hut, Mum in tow...bless.
    There was precious little uphill trekking today, though as it happens, we both generally prefer uphill to downhill because of the old knees. So it was quite a tough day in spite of the descent. The bird watching was excellent though all the way down; loads of birds, many different species.

    ... western toilet and it looked passable for the night , only 800 rupees , about 10.00

    Their other rooms were around 2000 and 3000 rupees but we didn’t think we wanted to spend that there.

    We went off to dinner at a recommended place called Glenary’s , the usual popular place frequented by westerners. It’s a lovely building and you could see how grand it would have been in the 1900’s.
